Our Story
Founder Sean Wisedale’s Himalayan expeditions led him closer to coffee-growing highlands. Today, that curiosity continues through air (fluid-bed) roasting and careful coffee preparation in Vero Beach.
Meet the founder
From glaciers to coffee grinders.
Before Tribe roasted its first bean in Vero Beach, Sean Wisedale spent twenty years on expeditions, carrying camera gear and collecting data on melting glaciers.
Those journeys brought him closer to the mountain highlands where coffee grows. Curiosity about the landscape became curiosity about the cup.
Love and guidance
No journey happens alone.
Martin Fitzgerald, Surine Viljoen and the team at TriBeca Coffee in South Africa helped Sean trade crampons for cupping spoons.
The patience and precision of expedition life found a new purpose in roasting. Tribe grew from that guidance, gratitude and a love of honest work.
The spirit of Tribe
Grown by altitude. Driven by attitude.
The next expedition
Precision meets passion.
Sean now studies roast curves rather than ice loss, bringing the same attention to detail to coffees from Brazil to Guatemala.
At our Vero Beach roastery, air (fluid-bed) roasting and careful coffee preparation carry that curiosity into your everyday cup.
Our home in Vero Beach
Find your Tribe.
The crack of a roast, the hiss of the steam wand and conversation over coffee are part of Tribe today.
